Verified ReviewerSevere Harry Potter Misprint
I purchased the full series of the Harry Potter books late last year and have been slowly read through them. In my copy of the Goblet of Fire, it is severely misprinted throughout the 300 pages.
It jumps from page 306 to 339 and I am completely missing those pages. Then, jumps from page 370 back to page 339.
This is extremely disappointing that I cant read my book in its entirety. This book was printed in 2023 and is so unacceptable.

Although they have good products, their customer service is rated as one of the worst. I signed up for Scholastic in 2021 so that my child could receive books from family and friends who purchase through a link you can send via shop.scholastic.com.
We all know about the craziness going on that year, but the link was good and could easily be posted to my social media pages, and I was able to send it out via text. My child was able to get books from 2021 through 2022 and I even deposited the cash I received into an online wallet for future use. However, when my child changed schools for the next year, Scholastic did not recognize the change I had made to the profile, which caused issues with the next school year. I could not use the money in the wallet at any physical school book fair.
Since it was a better school, meaning the students were given 5 free books at the three book fairs they held, I was okay with allowing the financial credits when buying through the website, that they claimed would go to an underserved school. However, the last school year, 2023-****, was even worse. I still encountered problems with using the money in the online wallet at the first book fair. Next, they moved the money from the wallet to a gift card and closed my online wallet.
Their system also refused to let me create another wallet. I called about the issue multiple times and, indeed, received multiple answers to my problem. On my last call a couple of months ago about the issue, they told me I had to be physically present at the school for my child to use the money in the wallet (the online wallet was fixed by then). The school's Media Specialist verified that this was incorrect and I actually witnessed another student paying for items using information in the system.
I closed my online account; they didn't verify my identity, just my email address, which is alarming as anyone could close your account. I will not be using their online products and will only buy in the store if needed.

- Books found in stores
- Not enough procedures in place to verify identity
- No tech support
- Poor customer service

Verified ReviewerThe worst website of all-time
Navigating the ridiculously convoluted maze of e-wallets and gift cards, and not being able to simply add money to buy something or find the right teacher or book fair, is enough to make even the most technologically adept human beings scream in agony. What an abysmal, atrocious piece of trash.
I hope this company goes bankrupt. It's a completely unusable website and an embarrassment for any school using this.

Verified Reviewer | Stockton, CaliforniaWriting a Book
Hello. I am currently writing a book and was hoping to get it published eventually.
It isn't exactly a kids' book, because it does deal with death and abortion, but it could fit into young adult novella. It is a dystopian about the future where abortion is completely illegal- what they do instead is take 20 year olds and put them through a series of tests to determine who is "worthy" of becoming a U.S. citizen. My story focuses on twin women Vida and Lindsey and how they navigate their way through the test in 2075 (the law is enacted in 2035).
Vida is a boxer and has anger management issues, and Lindsey is a musician (piano) and has self harm issues.
If someone could get back to me that would be great. Thank you.

Verified Buyer | Bengaluru, KarnatakaI have a query
I placed an online order for the book. The payment was made online.
What is the procedure to receive the book.
Will the book be received by the school, since the sign in was made to select the school name. Where in the school is refusing to help with payments made online.
Kindly help me with this issue.
Price on class set of books
I was buying 35 books and Scholastic would not give me a discount. Your books were more than Amazon, I feel for a class set Scholastic should give me a discount.

I had a book fair in April of last school year. I ordered a Hamilton Buhl PA System with my scholastic dollars.
I have not received it and I have contacted you before and you said it takes time. I don't believe it takes this much time in getting it. I spent almost 1500.00 on this and I want it or my scholastic dollars back.
This is ridiculous. The confirmation number for this order is 617****.

Verified Reviewer | Janesville, WisconsinScholastic books for sale
In your recent Scholastic order form I noticed you are promoting and selling a book by JoJo Siwa. She is an adult trying to manipulate and recruit innocent K-2 children into sexual abuse.
There is a distinction between not descriminating against LGBTQ people and promoting the recruiting for their sick depraved indoctrination of our youth. If Jojo comes out as a Pansexual LGBTQ or love whatever she wants, then she needs to keep it to herself and not try to convince as many children as she can to follow her example. This is not being inclusive and making LGBTQ youth feel comfortable and accepted. It is pure indoctrination.
You are selling a book that will lead children into abuse and ultimately the dangers of child trafficking. Don't succumb to the evil liberal agenda of child abuse and specifically SRA. You need to remove this book. It is not innocent.
it is not a child speaking acceptance to other LGBTQ children. It is an adult using her influence as a Youtuber and a celebrity to influence children's sexual orientation. You know damn well you would not sell a book by an 18 year old heterosexual influencing LGBTQ children to convert or experiment with heterosexuality.
This is disgusting and evil. I know this will fall on deaf ears because our society is controlled by sick evil corporations that subscribe to this evil.

Poor communication
I have been ordering books from scholastic book clubs for my students and classroom for over 25 years. It is a great way to get books in kids hands.
However my recent order had "technical issues" and was never processed. I was on hold for over 45 minutes to talk to a representative and would never have known the order had issues if I did not call. The person I spoke with indicated this has been an "issue" for others. When asked if my order could be pushed through since it has already been close to a month, I was told no and the delay could be 5 weeks out after the "technical issue" is resolved.
I understand there are issues with labor and shipping during covid times, but feel this company needs to be honest and let educators be aware of the timeline since we are selling their product to families.
I am embarrassed to report out to parents right now since in the past the book turn around has been 2 weeks. I will not order again from scholastic until their issues have been resolved.
Preferred solution: *price reduction or credit *notice to educators about your time delay with specific timeline expediate the current order

This book order for my class was submitted almost 6 weeks ago. I was told when I called 2 weeks ago.
It would be sent to me last week. What in the world ? Embarrassing to have to keep telling students its coming. I never had trouble in the past.
This will most likely be the last time I order for my classroom. Please put a rush on it!!

Book order
Not a complaint. I called to ask about dollar deals. Person gave me accurate information in a polite, respectful manner
To check on my order
I was on hold from 4:29 pm to 6:10 pm before any representative responded to my request. After about an hour, I stepped away from my computer from time to time to do other chores.
At 6:10 I was in another room when the representative answered the "chat." Because I didn't respond promptly at 6:12 she ended the chat. I wasn't able to get any answers and was asked if I wanted to start another chat.
